A run in the top of the ninth propelled De Anza past Gavilan 3-2 Wednesday at home.
The contest had been postponed from Tuesday due to weather.
Gavilan drew first blood, scoring in the bottom of the second. Tyler Slayday singled to score Edgar Arriola and put the Rams ahead 1-0.
De Anza answered in the top of the third and evened the score after Issiah Todd singled to score Alex Roque.
John Forestieri singled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth to put the Rams ahead 2-1. However the Dons got back-to-back outs to end the threat.
De Anza tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the seventh when Ryan Johnson hit a sac fly to score Cristopher Castillo.
The Dons struck again in the top of the ninth, scoring the game winner on a bases loaded single from Roque.
Gavilan nearly evened the score in the bottom of the inning as Austin Garcia stood 90 feet from home plate. But the Rams weren’t able to bring him home and grounded out to end the game.
Matt Oxner was stellar on the mound for Gavilan, allowing two runs—one earned—off seven hits. He also struck out three and walked one. DJ Renteria was handed the loss, however, allowing one run on a hit in a third of an inning of work.
Bryant Cid led the Rams at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a double. Slayday and Forestieri were both 2 for 4 with an RBI a piece.
