Dear Editor,
Why I am for Greg Sellers, Allan Abrams, Mark Grzan and Julia Starling in the Nov. 2 election for mayor and City Council.
My only dilemma in this election is wanting to vote for four candidates when I can only vote for three. All of these candidates openly announced at the candidates’ night that if they have to make a choice between what the residents of Morgan Hill want and the influence of corporate interests and the “knee-jerk” response to immediate taxes coming into the City of Morgan Hill, they will listen to and honor the voice of the citizens first and foremost.
I did not hear Dennis Kennedy or Lary Carr speak to this issue.
It is not unusual for longtime council members to have the ear of investors and sometimes trade the welfare of the people for filling the city coffers. For our elected officials to make a commitment to solicit the voice of the people, to listen to the voice of the people and to act in the interests of the people is rare and refreshing.
Natasha Wist, Morgan Hill
