Acorns finish sixth in league, seventh at title match
SALINAS — Live Oak’s Paige Flores, Olivia Lastra, Katie Lowrey and Jada Williams shot personal-best scores of 108, 111, 112 and 112, respectively, Monday at the Tri County Athletic League Championship golf match.

With a score of 443, the Lady Acorns placed seventh out of 10 teams at the Salinas Country Club and sixth in the league standings. Host Salinas won the tournament and team title at 342, one stroke ahead of Santa Catalina.

It was Live Oak’s last title match as a TCAL member. The Acorns will play in the Blossom Valley Athletic League in 2010.

Wednesday Live Oak honored Flores as MVP at the team banquet. Williams was named Best Rookie, Eunice Kim Putting Champion and Jennifer Schwegler the Most Promising golfer. Also, Lowrey and Rachel Chenoweth were recognized as four-year members of the team.
