Everyone knows the “David and Goliath” story. Two armies were lined up facing one another across an open valley. Out in the middle was a 14 year old stripling (David) with a sling shot. He was facing a 9 foot tall warrior with full battle garb. That is what they saw.

Young David was not looking at the size of the giant, he looked beyond his problem and saw the size of God. In that context, Goliath did not look so big. David could have shot the stone in the opposite direction and it would have gone all the way around and hit Goliath in the back of his head.

In a straight-up nose to nose battle between right and wrong, right always wins. That’s why “wrong” always tries to cloud the issues. They can’t afford a clear confrontation.

I’ll dismiss those who falsely claim, “there is no right or wrong” with a response, “Are you sure you are right?” Now – Sit down and be quiet.

Those opposed to what is right and just must find ways to make us focus upon the size of the problem(s) we face. Like the “Armies of the living God” in the David story, they want to emphasize the size of the giant.

They would like us to study his armor and the history of his tactics. When we become expert in those, they will be happy to give us more stuff about Goliath to study. Had David been doing that, I doubt he would have had time to learn about the “Mighty God” he served.

On the other hand, When we focus upon, and learn things about that “Mighty God” all the “Goliaths” we face take on a new context.

If we study the problem we end up with awe at its size and our inability to cope with it. We become frustrated and discouraged. If we study the “solution,” (That is – God’s being and personality.) we end up with awe at God’s power and grace. We find hope and confidence.

Know that “hope and confidence” are the universal antidote for “frustration and discouragement.” The ungodly will do everything they can to keep their opponents frustrated and discouraged.

Expect a constant drum beat, “President Bush can’t do anything right.” Focus on it and you’ll surly develop frustration and discouragement. You’ll never win your battles unless you focus upon your goal.

I encourage you to learn what it is you don’t know that you don’t know. There is “One God Working.” For nearly two decades now, we have been hosting the ACH American History and Government Study seminars. Nearly 1,000 people from all over the country have taken this four-day by 12 hours a day course. The alums keep coming back and bringing their friends.

Every aspect of the course from the mix of the teaching focus to the setup of the curriculum has been designed upon principles that work. You will learn of the hand of God in human history. You will have a new depth of understanding in such principles as “Individuality,” “Private Property,” “Local Authority.” You will read from the same material that inspired our founding fathers.

In building the faculty, we have stayed away from “pulpit personalities” that serve to get you all excited while you hop from mountain top to mountain top. Rather, we have found master teachers who will plant seeds in your understanding that will grow for a lifetime.

It was God who said, “Come, let us reason together.” These seminars are dedicated to encouraging and improving individual reasoning ability. Students who have returned several times include pre-teens, high-schoolers, home school parents, school teachers, businessmen, and politicians.

I want to encourage each reader to adjust your schedule for Wednesday, July 21, through Saturday, July 24, (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and take advantage of this opportunity so close by. Others travel from some distance.

It is “inconvenient” on purpose. We’re not interested in helping those just wanting to be served. We are interested in encouraging those with a goal and the desire to learn.

If you accept the challenge contact me. (Note: My number is not here. That is your first “test.”)
