Two straight days of brilliant sunshine and blue skies greeted
1,000 or more of the top swimmers in the Western United States at
the Far Western Championship swim meet at the Morgan Hill Aquatic
Center on Thursday and Friday. According to Meet Director Denise
Melroy, the first two days of the four-day meet went off without a
hitch. The meet is set to continue today and Sunday with action
beginning at 9am and finals scheduled for 4pm each day.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the way everything’s going,”
Melroy said. An estimated 1,100 swimmers and 2,000 total people
have descended on the Aquatics Center this week, with about the
same number expected this weekend.
