Students at Britton Middle School in Morgan Hill are looking to score the opportunity of a lifetime as they raise funds for an educational science trip to the big island of Hawaii.
The students hope to research and explore volcanoes on their trip, while also checking out the marine flora and fauna of the area. To make this possible, an “intense” fundraising campaign is underway, including writing letters to corporations for possible grants and nickel drives at the school.
The latest fundraising effort on behalf of the Britton Middle School Volcano Expedition is family holiday portrait studio. Photos will be taken by teacher George Flores, who was trained as a commercial photographer at the Art Center in Pasadena.
Flores said he is happy to donate his time and expertise “for some of our needy but deserving youngsters at Britton.”
Packages are $50 and includes a family portrait, several styles to choose from, 50 holiday greeting cards and envelopes, the original digital image and the sitting fee.
