“WOW!”, seems to be the popular expression describing the Family Fun Festival held recently at Coyote Ranch by Charter School of Morgan Hill.

This event had two purposes: to bring the CSMH families and community together and to raise much needed funds for the school. Both were accomplished, with $10,000 raised for the general fund and $478. for the CSMH library.

Coyote Ranch is the perfect location for big outdoors events, and it had a little something for everyone. The weather was perfectly warm with a steady breeze, the background music was an upbeat country-western, loud enough to enjoy, soft enough to carry a good conversation.

The children had activities galore, consisting of Wacky Olympics hosted by Russ Chagnon, a dunk booth with a full schedule of teacher “dunkees.” There was also a talent show coordinated by Linda Philips, good’ol barbecue provided by The Bergin Families, awesome raffle items, a jump house, petting zoo, hula hoop contest and watermelon eating contest.

By a show of majority tickets, the giant slide was clearly the student’s favorite.

This event was put on by The Special Events Team, lead by Carol Stratton, Beverley Locsin, Pam Charron, Christine Payne, Kristin Georgi and Darcia Sterling. A special thank you goes to the many dedicated and supportive parent volunteers.

Sponsors at the Gold level supported the Family Fun Festival by donating funds, product and/or service: Coyote Ranch, The 6 Cranes, Ina Bina, Inc., Platinum Weddings & Events, Batman and Bubbles, Turner Construction, MHCS Special Events, Dan Witmer & Family, Ernie Reyes West Coast Martial Arts, Bas W. Wafelbakker, D.M.D., George Chiala Farms, Exit Realty Keystone, Dane & Christie Mortensen, Drs. David & Grace Basista and Dr. Ferdinand Manalili, D.D.S.

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, talent show, CSMH Agriculture program, room representatives, teachers and staff, raffle prize donors and volunteers all helped make the day a success.
