The perception a person has of the golf swing will truly begin to shape their swing from a physical standpoint. Some of the “swing thoughts” as they are called, are thought of as things you have to do to have success with the golf swing.
I am here to tell you most of them are either misinterpreted or a myth. Take for instance the “Keep Your Head Still” idea.
Always remember the golf swing is a motion, it is movement and the head does not stay perfectly still. I am not saying to purposely move your head.
However, do not try to do the opposite as well. Trying to keep the head so still usually results in a reverse weight shift. The weight moves front to back rather than from back to front.
The resulting shot usually one that is topped or hit thin. Not moving causes a swing flaw that leads to a poor shot result. Remember think motion not notion. Have fun.
