VTA Meetings to be Held in December
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will hold a series of public meetings in December to take feedback on proposed changes to its bus mobility device policy.
The new proposal would make it mandatory for all mobility devices to be secured onboard VTA buses. The South County meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 2pm, at Gilroy City Hall, Council Chambers, 7351 Rosanna St.
Former White House nutritionist to speak at Gavilan
William E. Wheeler, White House staff nutritionist to Presidents Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, will speak on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 3:30pm in the Art Lecture 101 at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.
Wheeler served as staff nutritionist to the 1996 U.S. Olympic Decathlon and 2002 US Olympic Snowboarding teams.
His current and past clients include the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chicago Bears, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Wizards, Tampa Bay Lightning, Utah Jazz, & the US Air Force Academy Football Team.

Inspecting Carol Continues at the Morgan Hill Playhouse
South Valley Civic Theatre presents “Inspecting Carol,” a hilarious adult comedy.
Mix together a struggling theater company, a tired production of “A Christmas Carol,” a really bad actor and a visiting inspector from the National Endowment for the Arts and you end up with this zany off-the-wall holiday farce.
The production is produced by Frank Mc Gilla and Bruce O’Hara and directed by Kae Jenny-Spencer. Shows play Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm through Dec. 10.
Performances are at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse on the corner of Monterey and Dunne Avenues in Morgan Hill.

Recycling Posters Available for Viewing
The public is invited to come and view the artistic talent of Morgan Hill’s students. The winning entries from the 2005 Recycling Rewards Poster Design Contest will be displayed at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center until Dec. 22.
The winning posters were selected from over 30 finalists by attendees of the Annual Earth Day Art & Science Fair in April. The designs were judged by grade level, with the top winner in each category receiving a check for $100.

We have set up a computer station at City Hall that is loaded with the Santa Clara Valley Water District’s new software, “Water-Wise Gardening for Santa Clara County.”
You can use this software to get water-wise design ideas for your landscaping project.
Visit outstanding gardens, view landscape photos that are grouped into 18 categories such as Front Yards, Back Yards and California Native Gardens, get detailed descriptions for more than 1,000 plants and create a printable plant list that you can take with you to your local nursery.
A world of ideas is just a few mouse clicks away.

Magic Ship Sails for the Holidays
For the last 30 years Santa Claus has enjoyed making holiday memories for the young and young at heart in Morgan Hill.
Santa starts his initial Morgan Hill visit by sailing his ship in the Holiday Parade and then for two weeks after can be spotted sailing his Magic Ship of Christmas around town with Boy Scouts from Troop 799 as he visits local shopping centers, convalescent homes, schools and block parties.
Anyone who has spent a holiday season in Morgan Hill has seen the Magic Ship slowly making its way around town with lights ablaze and Santa at the helm.
This year Santa will begin his magical journey to Morgan Hill at the Holiday Parade on Dec. 3. Then from Dec. 7 through Dec. 21 he will be available for the children of Morgan Hill to visit him at one of his public outings. Santa and the Magic Ship can also be scheduled for block parties and corporate events.
The Magic Ship of Christmas is run as a community service project by the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 799. If you are interested in scheduling the Magic Ship of Christmas, contact Gretchen at (408) 892-9015.
