MH library to host food expert speakers
As part of the Santa Clara County Library District’s “Focus on Food” series, the Morgan Hill Library will host two guest speakers who are experts on nutrition and farming later this month.
Upper Llagas Creek Flood Protection Project workshop
The Santa Clara County Water District is hosting an April 10 public workshop on the Upper Llagas Creek Flood Protection Project at 6:30 p.m. in the El Toro Room of the Community and Cultural Center at 17000 Monterey St. in Morgan Hill.
Couple rocks new shop
Poppy Jasper has sat in the hills of Morgan Hill (and nowhere else) for millions of years, and it has been the City’s official rock for more than a decade. An international film festival headquartered in Morgan Hill is named after the mineral, as is an award-winning beer, and now a downtown shop specializing in Poppy Jasper rock and jewelry is set to open.

Help make April 27 a ‘Beautiful Day’ in South County
Saturday, April 27 is shaping up to be a day of mass volunteerism in Santa Clara County, but organizers of the annual “Beautiful Day” event are in need of many more volunteers, “willing to pick up a shovel and get a little bit dirty” in order to complete the dozen or so beautification projects planned in Morgan Hill, San Martin and Gilroy.

One of Morgan Hill’s most ubiquitous volunteers, who died recently just months after her husband passed away, was always steadfastly devoted to the many organizations she was involved in while maintaining a sharp sense of humor, according to those who knew her.

The South-Asian Indian community of South County celebrated their spring festival of “Holi” March 24 at the Morgan Hill Community Park. This was attended by more than 80 people, highlighted by the traditional spraying of colors and water on each other.
YMCA launches healthy living kick-off event tonight
Mount Madonna YMCA is launching a new healthy living initiative, called “50 MOVING FORWARD: Journey to a Healthier Future,” with a kick-off event at 6:30 p.m. today at the Centennial Recreation Center in Morgan Hill.
