Christmas benefit concert at Franklin Ranch Saturday

Enjoy live music and dancing, while helping local children in need enjoy the holidays, Saturday at the sixth annual Christmas Barn Dance BBQ Benefit. Four bands will perform in the heated barn at The Franklin Ranch in Gilroy from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to the event is a donation of an unwrapped new toy, which will be donated to the U.S. Marines Toys For Tots drive. Food including barbecued tri-tip, salad, beans and bread will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish. The event is sponsored by MusicMedics and ECV.The Franklin Ranch is at 170 Rucker Avenue in Gilroy.For more information call (408) 930-7945, or e-mail [email protected]. Saturday parklet event worthy of a repeat

Stockings were hung by the chimney with care as Santa Claus greeted downtown visitors and inviting bar stools beckoned weary shoppers outside the M & H Tavern. Children were able to write their very own holiday present requests and mail them to jolly old Saint Nick at a festively decorated letter writing station outside the Music Tree. Passersby were encouraged to demo a bicycle and other fitness items at a display sponsored by the City’s Centennial Recreation Center.
