No City Council members are on the ballot for today
’s primary election, but the seats of Hedy Chang and Larry Carr
will be up for re-election in November 2004. Neither has yet
declared an intention to run again.
No City Council members are on the ballot for today’s primary election, but the seats of Hedy Chang and Larry Carr will be up for re-election in November 2004. Neither has yet declared an intention to run again.

Council terms are four years.

The mayor’s position in Morgan Hill is now a two-year, elected position and will be up for re-election also in November 2004. Dennis Kennedy was first elected mayor in March 1997 and was reelected three times for two-year terms. He has not announced whether or not he intends to run again.

These positions are nonpartisan.

Three Gavilan Community College trustees are up for re-election in November 2004. Leonard Washington, who fills a Morgan Hill seat; Mark Dover, a Gilroy seat and Tom Breen, a San Benito County seat, are all eligible to run again. Voters throughout the college district vote for candidates in each of the trustee areas.

Prospective candidates must file with the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters between July 12 and August 6.
