Sobrato athletic booster meetings
Join the growing group of parents and future parents of Sobrato High athletes at the Athletic Boosters meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sobrato High Administration Building. Guidelines will be put together for the organization as well as planning upcoming membership and fundraising events. The Boosters are currently looking for members to be on the board for Vice-President and Publicity. In addition, at Sobrato High’s Orientation on Monday, Aug. 23, meet the Sobrato Boosters board members, and more. And, an Open House and fundraiser with pizza from 5:30-7 p.m. takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Regular meetings take place on the third Tuesday of every month.

San Jose Lady Sharks
The San Jose Lady Sharks ASA softball organization will be holding fastpitch softball tryouts on Aug. 22 and 28. Girls 9-18 are invited to tryout.

MH Pony winter ball
Morgan Hill Pony Baseball will be accepting walk-in registrations for the Winterball 2004 season. Registration will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21. Signups will be held at Mountain Mike’s Pizza, Tennant Station at Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, next door to Sizzler. There will also be one evening registration on Wednesday Aug. 25, from 7:30-8:30 p.m., also at Mountain Mike’s. All fees are $40. Late registrations (after Aug. 28) will be $45.
Teams will be drafted during the week of Sept. 6, with practices starting on Sept. 11.
The Winterball season usually ends before Thanksgiving weekend. The Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony Divisions will be playing at Burnett, El Toro and Britton (Mustang 2) fields. There are no Shetland or Colt Divisions in MHPB Winterball.

SCBA signups
The SCBA Fall Basketball program begins on September 11. There are incentives to sign up early. The leagues run until Nov. 6.
The fee for a new player is currently $95 and for a returning player is $75. There is a $10 deduction for each additional family member.
This Saturday-only program is held on the Britton Middle School campus.

MH Pride to hold tryouts
The Pride of Morgan Hill Softball program will be having two tryouts for its 16U ‘A’ Fall Ball team on Sunday, Aug. 15 and Sunday, Aug. 22 at Community Park in Morgan Hill. Pitchers and catchers should arrive by noon.
All other players start at 1 p.m. Tryouts end at 3 p.m.

El Toro Aquatics clinic
El Toro Aquatics is holding a free Stroke Clinic for kids aged 6 and older Aug. 24-27 at the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center. Must be able to swim 25 yards. Also, El Toro is holding a Novice Clinic for kids who can swim 15 yards to be held the week of Sept. 13. Space is limited so sign up now.
