LO boosters golf tourney
For the second year, the Live Oak High Athletic Booster Club is hosting a fundraiser golf tournament.
This year’s event, which not only pays for uniforms, equipment and facilities but coaching stipends, will be held Sept. 18 at Coyote Creek Golf Course.
Registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch from noon to 12:45 p.m., and a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
The tourney will include a scramble format and is limited to 144 golfers. There will be a no-host reception at 6 p.m. after the tourney and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
Cost is $195 per person, which includes golf, cart, lunch, dinner and prizes. Dinner only is $40.
The tourney is also still in need of sponsors, including Gold ($5,000), Silver ($2500.), and Bronze ($1000).
Tee box or Greens (hole) sponsors are $250 each.

Sobrato boosters meetings
Join the growing group of parents and future parents of Sobrato High athletes at the Athletic Boosters’ Open House and fundraiser with pizza from 5:30-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Regular meetings take place on the third Tuesday of every month.

LO water polo needs players
The championship Live Oak High water polo program is seeking beginning players from ninth grade and up.

Speedo Cup
Let’s play water polo! The first Speedo Cup practice will be Thursday, Sept. 9 from 7-8:30pm at the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center.
The cost of the program is $75 with a $25 discount available to siblings.
The program will run through the first week of November.
There will be tournaments on Sundays and the Pacific Zone has asked Morgan Hill to host several tournaments, which should help save on gas expenses.
On those Sundays when a tournament is not scheduled, an additional workout will be scheduled.
Speedo Cup is a fall water polo program for athletes not in high school and aged 14 or younger.
We will focus on frontcourt team offense, frontcourt team defense, individual ball handling skills, proper passing technique, proper shooting technique, proper body balance (position) in the water, 6-on-5 offense/defense, and 1-on-1 offensive/defensive skills.
Depending on the number of players, there will be a 12-under coed team, a 14-under boys and a 14-under girl’s team.
The season runs from mid-September through mid-November. Practice is one night a week, with games on Sunday. Morgan Hill Water Polo is a member of United States Water Polo.

SCBA signups
The SCBA Fall Basketball program begins on Sept. 11. The leagues run until Nov. 6.
The fee for a new player is currently $95 and for a returning player is $75. There is a $10 deduction for each additional family member.
This Saturday-only program is held on the Britton Middle School campus.

Gilroy Chaos softball tryouts
Tryouts for the Gilroy Chaos’ 16U, 14U and 12U girls softball teams will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1 from 5pm-7pm at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Field) in Gilroy.

MH Aquatics Center programs
This fall, the Morgan Hill Aquatics Center will hold afternoon swim lessons Monday-Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Each session includes eight lessons. Fees are $54 for residents and $64 for non-residents.
Recreation swimming will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 4-7pm, and Saturdays and Sundays noon-6pm.
Lap swimming will be offered Monday-Friday 5:30-9:30am, 11:30am-1:30pm and 4-7:30pm, and on Saturday and Sunday 7-10am.
There will also be Water Aerobics classes offered, as well as Aquatots, Teen Howl, Dive-in Movie and Food, Family and Fun special events.
