gavilan niners hold june ace day
The Gavilan Niners held their June Ace Day on June 24 at the Gavilan Golf Course. Ace for June was Joan Webenbauer, Morgan Hill, net 28, she was also first in the second flight.
Frst in the first flight was Anita Sciutto, Capitola, net 32, and second was Birgit Caparusso, Gilroy, net 32. Second in the second flight was Bobbi Bentley, Morgan Hill, net 32.
Low putts went to Arlene Cardoza, Watsonville with 14. Peggy Woolf, Morgan Hill, had a chip-in.
Winners of the Eclectic held in May in the first flight were Elaine Rickard, Gilroy, net 22, Carol Narvaez, Morgan Hill, net 23, Marlene Sherwin and Teri Swan, Morgan Hill, net 25. In the second flight the winners were Joan Webenbauer, Morgan Hill, net 22, Phyllis Dollar, Morgan Hill, net 25, Bette Post, Morgan Hill and Janet Roach, Watsonville, net 27.
Winners at the Short Course held at Gavilan Golf Course on June 11 were Bobbi Bentley, Morgan Hill,second in her flight, Nina Kimoto, Watsonville, third in her flight, Carol Narvaez, Morgan Hill, second in her flight,Elaine Rickard, Gilroy, third in her flight, Anita Sciutto, Capitola, first in her flight, Marlene Sherwin, Morgan Hill, first in her flight ,Teri Swan, Morgan Hill, third in her flight and Peggy Woolf, Morgan Hill was the overall low gross winner with a 38.

Earthbound Farm will host “Earthbound Farm Classic Bicycle Race” on Friday, July 2, at Hellyer Park Velodrome. The first race will start at 7:30 p.m. Event will feature the Winning Wheels Madison Team Race, where teams of two riders take turns in the race. Racing for Elite Men, Elite Women and Masters riders will include sprints and the popular Miss ‘n’ Out. Admission is only $5 for adults, $1 for seniors 60 and over and free to youths 17 and under. The Junior NBA Boys and Girls Basketball Camp takes place July 12-16 at the Gymnasium, 145 Wright Ave. in Morgan Hill. Come and have a great time. The coaching staff is ready for a great camp. Sessions for Pre-K to second grade is 8:30-9:30 a.m.; third grade to sixth grade is 10 a.m.-noon; and seventh to ninth grade is 12:30-2:30 p.m. The cost is $80 for all ages. Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League is now taking signups for the 2004/05 fall recreational season. The cost before July 15 is $95 for the first and second player of the family and $60 for the third or more.
Beginning July 16, the cost is $120 on a space-available basis. Boys and girls aged 4-14 (born from 8-1-99 to 7-31-91) are eligible. The 9th Annual Basketball Jones Hoop Camp will take place July 5-9 at Oakwood Country School, 105 John Wilson Way, Morgan Hill.
