Cheers to the children who discovered the gun, a suspected murder weapon, while playing in a creekbed.
They are to be commended for giving the gun to an adult immediately, ultimately to the police. They set a fine example.
It chills me to picture a different scenario had they been tempted to keep it or show it to other children.
They are deserving of much praise at their school and perhaps recognition at a future assembly. How about a tour of the new police facility?
