The Champions Academy Gymnastics boys team traveled to Hawaii for the regional championships.

Level 10 competitor Josh Dixon, had a strong meet, finishing first on the floor exercise and vault, third on the parallel bars and high ball and fourth in the all-around. That easily qualified him for the Junior Olympic National Championships in May in Oklahoma.

Matthew Schaupp, a 12-year old Level 5 gymnast, also had a strong floor routine, taking home top honors and a gold medal on the event.

The girls team traveled to Utah for the regional final and Level 9 gymnasts Alexandra Evans and Amanda Lie were the top competitors, placing first and second, respectively, in the all-around.

Evans took first on the floor and second on the beam, while Lie was second on the bars, third on the beam and third on the floor.

In the junior division, Level 9 gymnast Desi Borgese took first on the balance beam and Emma Craig took third on the beam.

The girls now continue their medal hunt at the Western National Championships, to be held in Washington in May.
