Keep Jazz alive
n D’Vine Jazz & Wine has gained the reputation as one of the top three venues for live jazz entertainment in the South Bay by San Jose Jazz (formerly San Jose Jazz Society) due to the high caliber of entertainment they provide. But, the economy is hurting everyone and D’Vine Jazz & Wine is no exception. They are in a fight to continue to give local and international artists an elegant and comfortable venue in which to play – as well as provide patrons the quality entertainment they have come to expect.
To help keep D’Vine Jazz & Wine moving forward, musicians in the bay area who have performed at D’Vine are rallying together to host a fundraising concert from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, with a professional jam session scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m.
The headliner, moving force behind the concert, and a great friend of D’Vine is singer/songwriter Kaye Bohler, who performs all over California including six times at the Monterey Blues Festival. Other local and internationally known musicians anticipated to perform are John Worley and Eric Bolvin (trumpet); Nate Pruitt (blues and jazz vocalist), Kat Parra (Latin Jazz vocalist), Rory Snyder and Noel Catura (saxophone), along with many more.
There is an entrance donation of at least $20. Food tickets will be available for purchase.
