Dear Editor,
Your paper has been a welcome member of my family throughout the past 23 years we have lived here in Morgan Hill. You have celebrated our children’s accomplishments from their elementary to their high school years. Our granddaughter has been photographed twice as she played in the Morgan Hill Community Center fountain. How special you made us feel just by a little bit of recognition. You were there to tell how my late husband, Dennis Heinsohn, went on the last of several 50 milers with Boy Scout Troop 730 in August of 2001 and didn’t return due to a heart attack. When these same boy scouts choose to honor his memory by erecting a flag pole at the Morgan Hill Grange, you were there.
On the other hand, however, in regard to the Oct. 3 Morgan Hill Times article titled, “U.S. Post Office Loses Kennett’s Campaign Mail,” I wish to say that I deeply resent the implication of wrongdoing on my part. I was told by your office yesterday that the fact I share the same last name as Chris Borello was your motivation for adding my name to your article because you deemed this information as “funny.” Let me assure you I do not find anything even slightly humorous about this incident. The Borello family has been a very strong positive influence in this community for many years. I sincerely hope your callous comments do not shed any negative light on Chris or his campaign.
Debbie Borello, Morgan Hill
