The Refugee Foster Care Program of Catholic Charities Santa Clara County is seeking families or single adults to foster refugee camp youths from around the world. Families are given training, support and monthly reimbursement for expenses.

W.E.R.C. Bird Walk

The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center is hosting a monthly series of bird walks, 9-11am along Coyote Creek, led by Jane Haley, a 20-year National Park Service docent. Due to terrain, walk is not recommended for younger children. Program is free, space is limited and reservations are required.

Family Kite Day at Pacheco State Park

Pacheco State Park presents its sixth annual Family Kite Day, 1-5pm at Pacheco State Park. Turn south on the San Luis Reservoir-Dinosaur Point turnoff of Hwy. 152 between Gilroy and Los Banos and take the first right. Park entry fee of $5 per car. Hot dog vendor available, free face painting and contests. Free souvenir button to all kite flyers.

Early Days in San Juan

San Juan Bautista State Historic Park hosts “Early Days,” 11am-4pm on Second Street, San Juan Bautista. History comes alive with period costumes and demonstrations. Admission is $2 for adults. Children under 16 are free.
