SV Leadership Group Names New Education, Public Policy VP

The Silicon Valley Leadership Group has promoted Dennis Cima to vice president of education and public policy.

“Dennis has deep public policy experience and educational expertise that make him an outstanding choice for this new role,” said Silicon Valley Leadership Group CEO Carl Guardino.

“As our director of education and workforce preparedness over the past three years Dennis has done exemplary work on policies and programs that benefit employers, employees and the broader community,” Guardino said.

Under Cima’s direction, the Leadership Group has advanced its education efforts to include support for the Summer Teacher Fellowship Program of the Industry Initiatives for Science and Math Education (IISME) that has generated nearly 200 fellowships each year, directly benefiting nearly 30,000 students. In addition, Cima has played a strong role in the creation of the Leadership Group’s soon-to-be-launched Middle School Math Initiative with 20 Valley middle schools that will positively impact 15,000 students each year.

Prior to joining the Leadership Group, Cima was the assistant to Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools Colleen Wilcox, and previously served as a legislative assistant to former Congressman and California State Senator Tom Campbell. Cima is a Bay Area native and a graduate of Santa Clara University.
