Sobrato started out fast against the 76ers opening up the first quarter with 22 points while holding Independence to just six points. The Bulldogs didn’t look back and dominated the 76ers by holding them to under 10 points in three out of the four quarters.

Mubarik Abdullahi finished with 15 points, six assists, four steals and two rebounds for Sobrato and teammate Thomas Buich recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Buich also had six blocks and two assists in the win.

On Thursday the Bulldogs kicked off play at the Carmel Invitational against hosts the Carmel Padres and fell in a close game, 41-39.

Once again Sobrato came out fast and lead the Padres 13-10 at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter, however, was a challenge for the Bulldogs as Carmel’s defense held Sobrato to only two points the entire quarter and took a 22-17 lead into halftime.

The Bulldogs’ rebounded in the third quarter as the defense played aggressive and held the Padres to just four points to take a 31-26 lead into the fourth and final quarter. It was the Padres offense that would prevail in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Bulldogs’ 15-8 for the win.

Crawford led Sobrato again with 16 points and Buich added 10 points in the loss.
