VTA Chairman Don Gage speaks during the ribbon-cutting

After being named Morgan Hill Unified School District’s 2014 Teacher of the Year during the May 27 school board meeting, Britton Middle School’s Vincent Gutierrez will be honored—along with top educators from local districts throughout the county—at the 45th annual Teacher Recognition Ceremony.
The recognition ceremony will take place Oct. 2 at the Heritage Theatre in Campbell. Gutierrez, who is an English and English Language Development teacher at Britton, will be one of 29 educators to be recognized as 2014 Santa Clara County Teachers of the Year. The top teacher list also includes Gilroy Unified School District’s Susan Freiberg, a Spanish teacher at Gilroy High School.
At the ceremony, the county will also hand out the 2014 Texas Instruments STEM Teaching Awards to six educators who will receive $1,000 apiece for their efforts.
