One hundred percent of the funds donated will go to finding a cure for eosinophilic disease, which depletes the body of iron and essential nutrients necessary for proper development and physical growth. In addition, the symptoms associated with this disease are painful cramping, bleeding, vomiting, and polyps. In many cases, children develop severe damage to their digestive tracts. Due to lack of nourishment caused from multiple food allergies or intolerance to so many foods, some children must rely on a simplified liquid formula or a feeding tube for their nutrition on a daily basis. Jacob is 7 years old and enjoys playing with Legos, playing Angry Birds on his mom’s iPhone and playing with his friends. He was diagnosed with the disease in November 2010.
