The WBC board of governors announced Thursday it voted Gilroy native Robert Guerrero’s bout against Andre Berto as its Fight of the Year.
Guerrero won a 12-round unanimous decision over Berto on Nov. 24 in Ontario, Calif., to retain his interim WBC welterweight title.
Berto was knocked down by Guerrero in the first and second rounds, but was able to fight to the final bell.
