Juan Uribe belted an opposite-field solo home run in the top of the eighth inning, Brian Wilson recorded a five-out save and the San Francisco Giants are headed to the World Series, defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday night.

Wilson froze Phillies’ slugger Ryan Howard with a slider for the final out of the game, stranding a pair of runners on base and sending the Giants pouring out of their dugout in jubilation.

Uribe’s home run off of reliever Ryan Madson with two outs broke a 2-2 tie.

Cody Ross was named the NLCS Most Valuable Player.

San Francisco earns its first National League pennant since 2002 and the 21st in franchise history.

The Giants will play the Texas Rangers, who eliminated the New York Yankees in six games, in the World Series. Game 1 is Wednesday night in San Francisco.
