The Central Coast Barnstormers kept their lead on first place in the National Conference South last Saturday when it routed the visiting Sacramento Cobras 49-25 at the Garcia-Elder Sports Complex in Gilroy, and improved to 5-1 overall.

The Barnstormers, of the Northern California Football League, have won four straight and hold a one-game lead in the loss column over the California Warriors (4-2) of San Jose, which edged the Salinas Spartans 21-18 on Saturday.

The Spartans fall to 3-3, while the South Bay Stallions round out the South Division with a 2-4 record.

Central Coast will visit the North Division’s Oakland Vipers (1-5) Saturday at Oakland Technical High School before returning home for the final three games of the regular season.
