Henry Coe State Park will provide two non-charge backpacking
training programs this month. Each program includes a four-hour
classroom session at Coe headquarters, a simple one-night
backpacking outing and extended backpack trips.
Henry Coe State Park will provide two non-charge backpacking training programs this month. Each program includes a four-hour classroom session at Coe headquarters, a simple one-night backpacking outing and extended backpack trips.
The two programs are:
Class 1- Beginner and Intermediate Backpacking-will include equipment selection, map reading and using the new GPS systems. There will be one classroom night March 8 and backpacking trips March 22 and April 10. Class 2 – Hiking and Introduction to Backpacking-includes one classroom day March 22 and backpacking trips April 24. It will include a discussion of hiking criteria and is open to both experienced hikers and beginning backpackers. For the backpackers there will be a discussion of equipment selection.
