And now it’s their crops that are unclean.
Moral: Be careful what you ask for. If 100 ppb of perchlorate is truly harmless, as clinical trials have shown and as many people believe, then setting a PHG (Public Health Goal) and an MCL (Maximum Concentration Limit) much lower just to “be absolutely safe” can have profound consequences on farmers, on water companies and their rate payers, and other people.
