Morgan Hill – A juvenile victim was assaulted with a beer bottle, and an adult was shot and stabbed during a weekend altercation.

Investigators are hoping witnesses to the weekend assault will step forward and name suspects in the incident, according to Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Don Morrisey.

On Sunday morning at approximately 12:42am, someone called the county communications dispatcher to report a large fight in the area of 15780 Murphy Ave., with approximately 50 people involved.

Murphy Avenue runs south from Diana Avenue to East Middle Avenue, mostly in unincorporated Morgan Hill, on the east side of U.S. 101.

Another report came in shortly afterwards that shots had been fired, and some of the people involved had fled the scene in a white Dodge Caravan.

Deputies responded to the area and began talking to people still on the scene, but no arrests were made.

Morrisey said there were two victims, both males, one of them a juvenile and one an adult. He said he could not release the name of the adult victim at this time because the investigation is ongoing. He could not release information on the condition of the victims.

Investigators do no have much information about the fight, he added, and he declined to say if it was gang-related.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (408) 808-4500.
