A Gilroy resident with several outstanding warrants was arrested Thursday afternoon at approximately 8pm after a stake-out by Morgan Hill special operations detectives.
Michael Alfaro, 44, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail Thursday evening on charges of stalking and sexual assault. Morgan Hill detectives Kevin Beilmann, Greg Dini and Rod Krewson conducted an investigation after a victim reported he had assaulted her previously and then continued to stalk her.
Another Morgan Hill resident who allegedly assaulted her aunt with a baseball bat was also arrested Thursday. An alert went out to local agencies from the county after Karen Wigglesworth, age unavailable at presstime, allegedly attacked her aunt. Morgan Hill police officer Brandon Richards located Wigglesworth on Condit Road near the Ford Store later that night, and she was arrested.
Morgan Hill police are still investigating an incident that occurred at StriXe Lounge in Tennant Station early Saturday morning. Someone threw a bottle inside the bar at approximately 12:30am, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. David Swing, and the bottle hit a woman in the face and shattered. Pieces of the bottle then struck another woman, cutting her face. She was transported to Kaiser Santa Teresa Hospital in San Jose and received stitches in her face.
Swing said there is videotape of the incident, and officers are investigating.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a possible shooting early Sunday morning on Murphy Avenue in unincorporated Morgan Hill. A report to the county communications dispatchers reported possibly 50 people involved in a fistfight in the area, and as officers were responding, a report came in of shots being fired.
A shooting victim was reported at Saint Louise Regional Hospital, but confirmation was not received by presstime.
