“Poncho” M. Orosco died Sept. 15, 2003.
Alifonso “Poncho” M. Orosco was born June 12, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas, and died Sept. 15, 2003.

Al was very proud to have served in the armed forces. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and sharp wit; the way he lived his life, loving and caring for all; his willingness to help all in need; his love and skill for photography and billiards and most of all for his unconditioned love and a smile that touched so many hearts. He was an avid fan of the Raiders and Marilyn Monroe. He worked for John Tomasello of Tomasello’s Floor Covering.

He is survived by sons Al Jr., his wife Rachel, and Jeremy, his wife Dina of Gilroy; and grandchildren Zackary, Ryan, Deanna, Jeremy Jr., and Dolores all of Gilroy; sisters and brothers,Sofia Carrillo of Gilroy, Frances Hail of Pinole, Juan Orosco Sr. of Gilroy, Christina Montez of Folsom, Dolores Vaca of Georgia, Maria Lucy Sanchez of Gilroy, Jesse Orosco Sr. of Gilroy, Juana O. Kenney of Gilroy, Peter Orosco Sr. of Gilroy, Polly Orosco of San Jose, Lolly Will of San Jose, Elena Helen Narvaez of Gilroy, Joe Orosco of Gilroy; special Uncle Benito Orosco of Gilroy; 41 nephews and nieces; 43 great-nephews and nieces and three great-great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Bernarda Orosco.

The Orosco family would like to thank friends and family for their condolences and prayers. Al touched each of us in his own special way, leaving each of us with our own special memories.

All are welcome to join in celebrating Al’s life at the First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave. in Gilroy, beginning with the viewing on Thursday, Sept. 18th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service was at noon today Sept. 19, at First Baptist Church, 8455 Wren Ave., Gilroy, under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
