A rip-roaring good time was had on Saturday at Pedrizzetti
Winery for the salute to our returning troops. Blue Star moms ate
for free, as well as soldiers in uniform. I loved the opportunity
to invite Staff Sgt. Ledesma, the USMC recruiter for our area, and
his wife to be our guests.

The Army and Coast Guard Reserves were also represented. Crazy Hearts Band rocked and rolled us with their great music. Letters to our wounded in Ramstein were collected and if you would like to write a note to them, please visit www.yourmorganhill.com Letters are placed on every bed, so that the first thing a wounded military person sees, is a letter of gratitude from home. Thanks to the Pedrizzetti Family for a memorable evening. You can learn more about them and their winery at www.pedrizzetti.com

We are very blessed this year to have the mayor of our Sister City, San Casciano, Italy, celebrate July 4 with us. Mayor Pietro Roselli will be visiting with us and I’ve heard we’ll be having lots of opportunities to visit with him and toast our new relationship. Watch for the press release.

As most of you know, fireworks displays are costly, and one way our Independence Day, Inc. volunteers keep it free for us, is by hosting events. The Independence Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 27, and they need your sponsorship or your participation to make this a success. Give Dick Peterson a call at 782-9955 for more details.

In closing, please remember we still have 145,000 military who are watching over us and the world as we go about our daily lives.
