Beginning with Saturday, November 3, the publication of the “Morgan Hill Times” passed from the hands of Messrs. Heimgartner & Noll into those of G. K. Estes, a capable and experienced newspaper man. Mr. Estes has been in the newspaper business for over ten years. He has published the “Mountain View Register” for seven years and not only edited his paper well but took a most active part in advancing the interests of Mountain View and was a potent factor in bringing about the incorporation of the town, which subsequently proved to be the making of the place. Up to several months ago he was editor and publisher of the “Hollister Bee.” During the three years of his management, the “Bee” reached the largest circulation of any paper in San Benito Co. Morgan Hill is to be congratulated in having such an experienced newspaper man as Mr. Estes to champion its cause, and given the support of the people he will no doubt make the “Times” one of the foremost newspapers of Santa Clara county.

It is customary for the new proprietor of a newspaper to outline his policy in the conduct of his journal. The Times under our management will be independent in politics. We believe our county officials and those who have just been elected are honorable upright men and shall commend them as long as they do their duty.
BAKERY FOR MORGAN HILL
For some time the people of Morgan Hill and the vicinity have felt the need of a first class Bakery. We are glad to announce that this want is to be supplied by J.A. Hart of Oakland. Mr. Hart has had 12 years of experience in this line and moves to Morgan Hill with his family. He will occupy the building now used by Judge T.H. Miller.
