died Tuesday. Longtime friends Michael and Jana Castelan, owners
of Poppy’s Fish Poultry and More in downtown Morgan Hill, will
celebrate his life from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the Alaska coast were captured on Discovery Channel’s popular show the “Deadliest Catch,” died Tuesday. He was 53. Longtime friends Michael and Jana Castelan, owners of Poppy’s Fish Poultry and More in downtown Morgan Hill, will celebrate his life from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at the restaurant, 30 E. Third St. The public is invited.
Harris suffered what his family described as a massive stroke Jan. 29 while the fishing vessel he captained, Cornelia Marie, was in port at St. Paul Island, Alaska, according to news reports. The fisherman was flown to Anchorage for surgery.
