Sobrato-hosted tournament continues today
MORGAN HILL
Scott Taylor scored 11 points, Ben Vater chipped in 10, and Travis Saenz had nine Tuesday as the Sobrato boys basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 67-21 victory over Chinese Christian to begin the Bulldog Chase.
The tournament hosts were in command the whole game and also received strong defensive contributions from junior Steven Villareal.
Sobrato (2-6 overall) led 35-15 at halftime.
Also in the tournament, Live Oak lost its opener to Mesa Verde, falling to 1-8, Union Mine outlasted Gilroy 51-47, and Santa Teresa beat Damonte Ranch 77-46.
Today at Sobrato, Gilroy faces Mesa Verde at 3 p.m. followed by Damonte Ranch-Union Mine at 4:30, and Live Oak-Santa Teresa at 6.
