Alex Kennett, president of the South County Democratic Club,
announced this week that the club has voted to oppose the recall of
Governor Gray Davis. Club members felt that it was not in the best
interest of the State of California for him to be removed from
office.

Kennett further stated that the Club has not taken a position on a candidate to replace Governor Davis, should the recall be successful though they could take a position at the Sept. 20 next meeting.
The South County Democratic Club holds regular meetings in Gilroy and Morgan Hill. Membership approaches 80 Democratic Party loyalists, who discuss and take positions on candidates, issues and government policies.
