Two Morgan Hill teens, Pamela Nicole Bailey and Chanelle Christine Kasik, learned Monday that they have been selected to compete in National’s 2003 Miss Jr. Teen San Francisco pageant competition on Sept. 6.
Pamela and Chanelle will be competing for a share of more than $20,000 in scholarships, prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants.
Chanelle is the daughter of Tom and Melanie Holthaus. She is currently enrolled at The Harker School, and attended Nordstrom grade school, and Martin Murphy Middle School.
Pamela will compete in the Miss Jr. Teen division, one of the three divisions, between the ages of 10 and 19 competing in modeling routines which include casual and formal wear. She will display her personality and interviewing skills to the San Francisco judging panel. Personality is the number one aspect that each contestant is judged on during all phases of competition.
The Miss Jr. San Francisco title winner will represent San Francisco and the surrounding communities at the Cities of America National Competition in Orlando, Fla. where more than $60,000 in prizes and awards will be presented.
There is no cost to contestants for participating in the pageant competition. Community businesses, organizations, and private individuals sponsor contestants so they receive the training to become confident in the pageant.
