HOLLISTER – Live Oak competed in a scrimmage Friday night at San Benito High School.
There were some hard hits and big plays made by both sides. Although San Benito may have had a slight advantage in the short-game drills, Live Oak probably had the slight advantage coming to the long game.
The teams had both seven on seven drills and also had a full scrimmage where all the players went at it.
Many of the Live Oak players were pumped after their game in anticipation for the season opener on Sept 12 against Milpitas at the Milpitas Sports Complex. Live Oak will dedicate its field Sept. 19.
The teams saw items that need to be worked on. Scrimmages are always learning experiences, and this one was no different.
“There is definitely a cause for optimism,” said Live Oak coach Glen Webb. “But we still have a lot of work to do.”
