The Morgan Hill Kiwanis is once again bringing in the holidays with the 2003 Holiday Lights parade. The parade will take place in downtown Morgan Hill on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The parade will begin, rain or shine (or snow) at 5:30 p.m. The parade will host a variety of local businesses, community groups, bands, and just people (and pets) full of the holiday spirit. We are even hoping to once again have a special guest from the North Pole aboard the Magic Ship of Christmas.

The theme selected for this year’s parade is “A Special Get Together.” The theme emphasizes the way we all gather together as families and a community during the holidays. The parade will host nearly 50 entries and run about an hour.

The entry fee for the parade is $25 for non-profit groups and $50 for commercial entries. Following the parade, the Mayor Dennis Kennedy will turn on the lights of the downtown holiday tree.

The Morgan Hill Kiwanis puts on the parade in service to the community. n advance of the parade, the Kiwanis, and other local service clubs volunteer their time to decorate the median strips in downtown Morgan Hill. This will take place Nov. 29 beginning at 8 a.m.

Any one interested in participating in the parade, being a parade sponsor, or helping with decorations or any of these activities should call 776-7818 and ask for Barbara Kimmich.

Parade marshals are needed on Dec. 6 from about 4:30-7:30 p.m.
