As the birth date and the first anniversary of USMC LCpl Jeramy Ailes’ passing approaches, I want to invite the local communities to honor Jeramy’s memory and provide comfort to his family in a variety of ways.
First, people may donate to a memorial scholarship fund set up in Jeramy’s name. This scholarship is available to Gilroy High School seniors. You may send donations to The Jeramy Ailes Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 464, Gilroy 95021.
Also, to let the family know that Jeramy has not been forgotten, there is a Web site where you may leave a message for the Ailes family. The Web site is www.legacy.com. Click on “In Remembrance” in the left-hand column. You may then type in Jeramy’s name and the Marines as his branch of service. The opportunity to sign the guest book will then appear.
Finally, there is a memorial button available for people to wear in honor of Jeramy. My hope is that the buttons will be worn many times in the years to come, but especially this month. The buttons are an opportunity for the community to show that Jeramy and his family are forever in our thoughts and hearts.
