After a lengthy and courageous battle with breast cancer, Marilyn Ann Orlando, of Morgan Hill, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Marilyn was born in Green Bay, WI to George and Lorraine Polomis. She was raised in Wausaukee, WI, the eldest of eight children. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh with a BA in Education after which she became a kindergarten teacher.

In 1962, she married her childhood friend/high-school sweetheart, Franklin Orlando. They would have celebrated their Golden Anniversary later this summer.

After starting a family, she dedicated herself to raising her two sons, and took an active part supporting all of their activities, as a little league scorekeeper, 4H leader, band and sports mom. An avid horsewoman, she was a member of many horseman’s associations over the years and competed in various activities, but her passion was endurance! riding, having amassed over 5000 miles in the saddle.

As her health declined, it pained her to be unable to spend time out on the trail with her beloved horses. She was a longtime member of St. Catherine Parish of Morgan Hill, CA. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of over 49 years, Franklin Orlando, of Morgan Hill; her two sons and their spouses: Jeffrey and Shannon Orlando of Sherwood, OR and Martin and Ginny Orlando of Santa Clara, CA; grandchildren: Philip, Aidan and Lauren Orlando of Sherwood, OR; Marc, Daniel, Melissa and Megan Orlando of Santa Clara, CA; siblings and their spouses: John and Gayle Polomis of Wausaukee, WI; Mark and Carol Polomis of Green Bay, WI; Fred and Renee Polomis of Wausaukee, WI; Greg and Ginny Polomis of Porterfield, WI; Dan and Linda Polomis of Green Bay, WI; Barbara and Garry Parrett of Wausaukee, WI; and Michael and Carolee Polomis of Green Bay, WI; siblings-in-law, Drs. Gerald and Kay Orlando of Keizer, OR and Mary Lynn Bennett of Jackson, WI. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews across the country.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Lorraine Polomis and her in-laws Frank and Pauline Orlando, and her brother-in-law, Daniel Bennett.

She will be dearly missed. Happy trails to you, Toots. Until we meet again.
