WEDDING: Briese/Carr: Emily Briese and Daniel Carr were married Sept. 10, 2011 at Advent Lutheran Church in Morgan Hill.
Pastors Anita Warner and Gary Berkland officiated. Emily was attended by Bethany Hancock, Kristi Van and Amy Ayala. Daniel was attended by Roger Carr, Larry Carr and Patrick Carr. Katie and Annalise Carr were flower girls. Caitlin Carr served as acolyte.
The reception following the service was also held at the church. The couple went to Yosemite for their honeymoon. They live in Morgan Hill.

Bernadette Hernandez
Air Force Airman Bernadette C. Hernandez graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Hernandez is the daughter of Irene and Joey Corral of Hollister. She is a 2011 graduate of San Benito High School.
Harmony Padilla
Harmony Padilla, a junior sociology major from Gilroy, has been named to the fall 2011 Dean’s List at McMurry University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking 12 or more credit hours.
Offering a diverse academic curriculum to more than 1,400 students, McMurry University is a small Christian liberal arts school in Abilene, Texas.
Brandt Sheets
On Jan. 7, Brandt Sheets, son of Bryon and Andrea Sheets of Orinda and grandson of Dwayne and JoAnn Sheets of Morgan Hill, received the Boy Scouts’ highest award, the Eagle badge, in recognition of his achievements as a member of Boy Scout Troop 303. In his honor, the city of Orinda proclaimed Jan. 10, 2012 as Brandt Sheets Day.

Kaulana Lorraine Soto was born Dec. 26, 2011 at St. Louise Regional Hospital to Sabrina Soto. She weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces.
