“Red Phone, back on May 4, you reported that Five Guys Burgers and Fries signed a 10-year lease to open in the former D’Vine Jazz and Wine location in the Madrone Village Shopping Center. But, the other day on my way to Red Robin for a burger – yes I love burgers – I stopped by to check on the progress. Much to my chagrin, there’s a sign out front that says “Space Available.” Did the deal fall through? Are they still planning to open up here? Please shed some light as I can’t wait for it to open?”
Red Phone: Dear Burger Lover, Red Phone contacted Assistant City Manager Leslie Little, who said the company still plans to open here.
“The Five Guys Burgers and Fries deal is still on,” she said. “The restaurant has a signed a 10-year lease and is scheduled to open in the fall. The Terranomics “For-Lease” sign is for the other available spaces at this shopping center as well as to promote the future retail space in the second phase of the development.”
There you have it, good caller.
Water main work being done on Main
“Red Phone, what are the signs on the south side of Main Avenue between Monterey Road and Peak Avenue that say “No Parking” for? Something going on I don’t know about? Thanks.”
Red Phone: Dear What’s Up, Red Phone contacted Karl Bjarke, director of engineering and utilities/city engineer, who said the contractor for the Main Avenue Water Main Replacement project recently installed signs notifying motorists that there will be no parking along the south side of Main Avenue Monday through Friday until the project is completed in early August.
Hope that helps, good caller.
