James Robert Brodie passed away September 18, 2016 at his home in Culdesac, ID from Glioblastoma Multi-Form Brain Cancer. He was 75. Jim was born April 23, 1941 in Palo Alto, CA, to John David Brodie and Jean (Schombery) Arney.
Jim was raised in Palo Alto and Los Altos, California and graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1960. He married Sandra Joan Antonelli Brodie on August 5, 1962 in Capitola California. They were married 54 years. They lived in Santa Cruz County until 1976 when they moved to Emmett, ID and lived there until 1980 when they moved back to California. When Jim retired from a career as a service station owner in 2006, he and Sandra moved to Culdesac, ID where he became a farmer.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, gold dredging, wood cutting, camping and picking up rocks on his property to make a beautiful alfalfa field. He also enjoyed skiing, swimming and spending time with his family and friends.
Jim is survived by: his wife, Sandra Brodie of Culdesac, ID, his son, Ronald J. Brodie (Lucy), of Paicines, CA, his daughter, Roxan Lomanto (Jim), of Culdesac, ID, Four grandsons; Elliott Brodie, Cory Brodie, Jimmy Lomanto and Jack Lomanto; a sister, Dianne Eisenman (Mike), of Ripon, CA; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great and great –great nieces and nephews. Also his sister and brother in-law Linda and Dennis Bobbitt. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, John and Jean.
There will be a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m., January 14th at the Green Valley Christian Center in Watsonville, CA.
