Frank Joseph Segreto of Gilroy, California passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Stanford Hospital at age 72 after a heart surgery.
Frank was born on July 3, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised by his loving parents Joseph and Serafina Segreto.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandpa and friend to many. His presence, wit, humor and sage advice will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves his beautiful and much loved wife of 39 years, Louise Segreto; his beloved son Frank Segreto, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Jessica of Mahomet, Illinois and one precious granddaughter, Josephine, one; his much loved daughter, Katrina Healy and son-in-law, Kevin of San Jose, California and two beloved grandsons, Brian seventeen and Christopher fifteen; his much loved sister, Jo Ann Preston and husband Thomas Preston of Brooklyn; and his much loved godchild, cousins and friends. His four-legged grandchildren Phil, Bauer and Bear will miss his company greatly.
We know time will heal the loss that his death has brought, but prayers for family and friends will be appreciated.
Frank served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. He met Louise in 1976 and they were married in 1977. He had a long and distinguished career in the Banking Industry at banks like Manufacturers’ Hanover Trust and New York Community Bank. He was the First Vice President of Community Board 11 in Brooklyn, a Commissioner on the Gilroy Public Art Committee, and a board member of the Gilroy Arts Alliance.
During his work and private life he made many life-long friends. He also maintained friendships with his co-workers in New York. Frank enjoyed years of walking, bottling his own wine at the many wineries in the Bay Area and traveling after retirement. Frank and Louise enjoyed a cruise to Alaska last May and two Disney cruises in the last couple of years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Segreto and Serafina Segreto.
