Anne B. Nelson November 19, 1931 – July 13, 2016

Garl Eugene Nelson, died June 8, 2008, 78, in Gilroy, CA. Eight years later he has been joined by his wife, Anne Burchill Nelson, 84, who died in Raleigh, NC on July 13, 2016.
Born May 27, 1930 in Payne County, OK, Garl was a son of the late Clarence Nelson and Eulala Cantlon. Anne was born in Paterson, NJ on November 19, 1931 to the late George Simpson and Mary Bernadette Burchill. Anne’s father died when she was a child and she was adopted by her stepfather the late Chester Holmes.
Garl attended San Jose High School and worked as a Warehouseman. Anne, attended Notre Dame High School in San Jose, CA, served as a nurse retiring from South Valley Hospital.They enjoyed square dancing, being outdoors with their many animals and most of all took pride in their children and grandchildren. Garl and Anne were married for 1 day short of 57 years.
They are survived by Anne’s brother, Joseph Holmes ofGilroy, CA; their children, Kathleen Venneman (John) of Morgan Hill, CA, Mary Jo Rodrigues (Mike) of Holualoa, HI, Daniel Nelson of Mesa, AZ, and Christopher Nelson (Michele) of Hillsborough, NC; their many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held in their honor at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Morgan Hill, CA on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM. They will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider a donation to any of the following organizations: Notre Dame High School in San Jose, the Alzheimer’s Association, or Transitions Lifecare in Raleigh, NC.
