Services in celebration of Eugene’s life will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the Elks Lodge, 351 Astro Drive, Hollister, CA at 12:00 P.M. noon; reception immediately following.  Eugene Lionel Marks (83) of Gilroy, CA passed away at his home surrounded by family, on June 4, 2016. Born in San Louis Obispo on October 14, 1932, son of Mary and Ernest Marks.
 Survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine Marks and his two children, Gene Jr. (wife Catherine) and Bonnie Marks, and three grandchildren, Julia, Meagan and Spencer Marks, and his siblings, Joe Marks of Oakdale, CA; Lambert Marks of San Louis Obispo, CA; Bobby Marks of Gilroy CA, and numerous nephews and nieces. (Deceased: Sister Della Rodriguez and Brother Ernest Marks)
 Eugene served in the U.S. Army (1952-1954) stationed in Anchorage, AK earning the privilege of being the top bulldozer operator responsible for clearing the airbase runways.
 In 1959, Eugene married Catherine Pettitt of Gilroy and started his own business as a General Contractor/Owner/Operator of Eugene Marks Tractor Service, Inc.
 He was a member of the Operating EngineersLocal #3 for 60 years, and a lifetime member of the Gilroy Elks.
