Frank, 70, born in Reed City, MI passed away in Morgan Hill, CA on March 25th. Frank graduated from Reed City High School in 1957 where his coaches regarded him as one of the finest athletes of that decade. Although he excelled at track, he was a star running back on the football team. Frank joined the Army after graduation to receive further technical training and served in the Middle East and Africa. After his honorable discharge, Frank migrated to San Jose, CA to embark on a career of designing, engineering and maintaining electrical control, heating and treatment systems. His extraordinary talent in this field enabled him to work for notable companies such as Standard Oil, American Bakeries and JM Smuckers. For 20 years he successfully operated his own business, CR Controls Inc, where he designed and installed control systems throughout Silicon Valley and the US. Most recently he was an engineer in the food processing group at ConAgra Foods in Gilroy, CA.

Frank had a passion for photography, off road vehicles, airplanes, gardening and spending time with his family. Frank is survived by his loving wife Barbara, his sister Ruth Alman and husband Tim of Walker MI; brother Jim Dykema and wife Susan, of Lowell, MI; foster brother Vern Schooley and wife Trish, of Long Beach, CA; his daughter Christine Pauley and husband Ken, of Gilroy, CA; stepsons Jeff and Kevin Teskey; granddaughter Tiffany McLaughlin and husband Sean; great- grandchildren, Cody and Jamie; and 5 step-grand children. He was predeceased by his son John and his parents Coye and Clyde Dykema of Grand Rapids, MI.
