‘A’ team plates seven runs in fifth on the way to beating San
Jose PAL 11-5 Sunday in PAL Stadium
SAN JOSE — In an All-Star season tuneup, the Morgan Hill Bronco ‘A’ team defeated San Jose PAL 11-5 Sunday in PAL Stadium.
Trailing 3-2, Morgan Hill poured in seven runs in the fifth inning, including two on Mark Quinby’s towering double to the left-field wall. Teammates Alejandro Torres and Travis Moulden chipped in key hits down the stretch.
Quinby struck out five in two innings, and Ethan Cox allowed one hit through three.
Mike Porras collected three hits and two runs, and lead-off man Domenic Zanotto reached base three times and scored twice for Morgan Hill. Garrison Greisdale and Cox added a pair of hits apiece.
This weekend, the Bronco All-Stars will play in a Fourth of July Tournament hosted by Fremont Pony Baseball. Morgan Hill won the event a year ago.
